The Dashain Tihar Festival is the biggest and most beloved celebration in the Nepalese calendar, now coming to the heart of Hurstville for the very first time. This vibrant, family-friendly event will feature:
26 Stalls of food, drinks, and merchandise
Live cultural performances by local artists
Games, kids’ activities, and face painting
A festive atmosphere of music, lights, and community joy
We anticipate hundreds of attendees from the Nepalese community and beyond to create wonderful festive atmosphere.

Stall Application
If you are interested to join, please fill in the stall application form and email company public liability insurance record to hurstvillenepalese@gmail.com for official record. Food stalls are also required to send FSS and TFP.
Market Stalls Layout
For navigation, please enter 1 Crofts Ave, Hurstville NSW 2220. Enter the event site from the side near stall C1 on the site map. On the day, the gate barriers will be removed, and vehicles can drive directly into the plaza. Please turn on your hazard lights at the entrance and wait for staff to guide you into the plaza and direct you to your designated unloading area. After unloading, please also inform the staff to guide you out of the plaza.

Event Details

Stall Size: 3M X 3M. We don’t accept food trucks or vans.
Stall Colour: White (Preferred)
Cost: $250 per Space, BOND: $200 (refundable)
Stall Selection Fee: 100 AUD, when a 100 AUD Stall Selection Fee is added to the stall fee, the stall owner can select the stall in advance.
Stall holder is responsible for their own waste and should collect all waste before leaving premises.
Equipment rent fee
Stall owners should bring their own gazebo (tent) ( preferred White Colour ) (here is a tent for reference) and walls (, here is a wall for reference) Weight and other required accessories .
If they need us to provide tent and walls, weight the rental fee is 199AUD per general stand.
300 AUD per food stand. This includes tables, tent, wall and weight.
1 light is provided, if require extra light bulb let use know could be arranged with extra cost of $25 per light, notify at least 1week in advance
Stall owners are required to prepare own 4 sandbags / weights, and ropes to stabilize the tent, this only applies to self-installed tent.
Stall holder requires to pay in advance.

“Dashain Tihar MELA” starts at 1PM and the performance begins at 1:30 PM.
. Vehicles must leave the plaza by 10:00 PM. Stalls must be set up by 12:30 PM. The exit time is from 8:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Please enter according to the scheduled entry time to avoid inconvenience to management and other stall owners.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes beyond the scheduled entry time, you may be refused entry into the Hurstville Plaza. In such cases, you may need to unload at the nearby Hurstville Westfield Shopping Centre and transport goods to the plaza.
Please complete unloading within 20 minutes. You may be required to pay an additional fee of up to 50 AUD if it takes longer.
Requirements for Food Stalls: Must use gas or self-provided generator.
1. All food stalls must have functioning hand wash stations with warm water, soap, and single use paper towels. These must be ready for use prior to any food preparation and maintained throughout operations.
2. All food stalls must ensure cold food is be stored at 5°C or below by using refrigeration or providing an adequate supply of ice.
3. All food stalls must have and use a commercial food grade sanitiser that is suitable for food surfaces.
4. Sneeze guards to be provided where food is displayed and accessible to customers.
5. Stall layouts to be designed to allow safe access for inspections and eliminate trip hazards. This includes allowing sufficient space behind stalls, providing anti trip cable covers to any cords on the ground.
- Stallholders shall bring their own tent, LED lighting (The brighter the LED lighting, the better. Here is a sample one), a minimum 25-meter power cord, and a power board. Please place the power board inside the tent in a location that is protected from rain. Please label your power cords and power boards with your stall name to avoid mistaking them. The organizer’s power cords and power boards will be collected after the stall owner leaves, so please be careful not to take them away by mistake.
Stall owners are required to prepare 4 sandbags / weights, and ropes to stabilize the tent. Please tie the tent legs of adjacent tents together. The sandbags / weights and ropes are also required for the stall owners who rent the tents.
Food stalls are requested to bring their own 3m x 3m floor mats to prevent food grease from dirtying the floor. Stall rubbish must be taken away. Please contact us if you need help.
The organizer will provide one power outlet per stall. Stallholders with equipment above 1 kilowatt or needing additional outlets must notify in advance to avoid power outages due to high-power appliances. Please list the power requirements for each equipment.
Please unload at different locations based on your stall section shown on the Market Stalls Layout above:
Section C: Unload next to the footbridge on the Crofts Avenue side.
Section D: Unload in the middle of the plaza near D3.
Section P1-P4: Unload in the middle of the plaza near P1.
Section P5-P9: Unload in the middle of the plaza near P5.
Section M: Unload in the middle of the plaza near M2.
Section F: Unload between F area and M area.
Electricity surcharge
Food stalls must use gas or self-provided generator in principle. It is easy to lose power when high-power catering equipment is used at the same time. We will make overall arrangements to avoid power outages. The stall fee includes electricity for lighting.
For stalls with power supply above 1 kW and within 2 kW, a surcharge of 50 AUD is required;
For stalls with power supply above 2 kW and within 4 kW, a surcharge of 100 AUD is required;
In principle, stalls with power supply above 4 kW are not accepted
Please include the electricity surcharge when paying stall fee and email us any additional cable etc you require from us.
NOTE: Sell of Alcohol is not permitted in this event.
How to Participate and Apply
Please email organizer at hurstvillenepalese@gmail.com, along with the required documents. If the public liability insurance, FSS and TFP have already been sent there is no need to resent unless there are changes.
(1) All stalls need to fill in the stall application form and provide company public liability insurance.
(2)Food stalls: Provide Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certification and Temporary Food Permit (TFP).
(3)Non-food stalls: Submit a complete product list with quality inspection information.
All stallholder applications are reviewed individually based on product variety, electricity usage, product smell, cooperation with us and overall event balance.
Approval emails with designated account for payment are issued once the application is accepted.
After receiving formal approval email should stallholders proceed with payment.
Important Dates Reminder
Cancellation Policy: Stalls cannot be cancelled bond will not be refunded.
Bond: Once your stall application is approved, please pay a 200 AUD bond to secure your stall. The bond is a one-time payment and can be used in subsequent night markets. If you no longer participate in the night market, please email us to refund the bond.

Performance Application Process
Street Performance Policy

Council approval is not required for busking or street theatre if the activity according to pages 5 and 6 of the above policy:
• Has been registered with Council (and a temporary permit issued);
• Occurs in a Council designated location (refer to Appendix C for the list/map of allowable locations);
• Is undertaken between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm and for a maximum of 2 hours
• Involves the use of handheld equipment only;
• Continues to enable the safe passage of pedestrians and vehicles;
• Continues to enable the amenity of the area; and
• Does not involve:
a) Dangerous implements, materials or animals; or
b) Drawing, marking or affixing anything to the footway; or
c) The use of a public address, sound system or amplification; or
d) Solicitation of funds (however performers may receive voluntary donations); or
e) Advertisement or promotion of goods for sale, other than products consisting of the artist’s own work; or
f) Set up, operate or use a loudspeaker or amplifying device on community land (D5).
