Project Title: “Cricket for a Cause”
Project Time frame: Weekly Basis
Description of a Project:
“Cricket for a Cause” aims to create a stronger sense of community and encourage youngsters to make healthier choices by participating in sports. It’s a great way to build connections and strengthen relationships within our community, fostering a social and multicultural environment.
Our planned activities:
Facility Access: To make training possible, the initiative will arrange for free membership to a cricket training facility and waive fees for net hire. This removes a significant financial barrier for participants.
Equipment Support: The program will support players by providing free cricket gear, ensuring that individuals who may not be able to afford equipment can still participate.
Friendly Matches: As mentioned before, the core activity remains hosting friendly matches. These matches serve as the platform for community engagement and for players to put their skills into practice.
Why is Project needed for the Community:
• To Improve Social and Multicultural Integration: By creating a space where people can engage in a friendly, shared activity, the project helps to bridge social gaps and promote a more cohesive, multicultural environment. It facilitates positive interaction among community members.
• To Provide a Healthy Outlet for Youth: The initiative is needed to offer a “healthier choice” for young people. It serves as an alternative to less constructive activities, encouraging them to be physically active and socially engaged through sports.
• To Foster a Sense of Community: It provides a specific, structured platform for Nepalese-origin individuals to gather, interact, and build connections. This is particularly important for diaspora communities such as our who are seeking ways to maintain and strengthen cultural ties.
